Aussie eyes on Brooklyn for NBA 2025 Draft

Lachlan Olbrich, Tyrese Proctor, Alex Toohey and Rocco Zikarsky will be watching the clock with aspirations of joining the growing pack of Australians in the NBA.

The day has arrived for Australian prospects with the NBA Draft commencing in Brooklyn from 10:00 AEST.

All four prospects rose as star representatives for their State & Territory  and further developed  their game at Basketball Australia’s Centre of Excellence & NBA Global Academy.

“All four came through state-based performance programs then into BA camps and of course, the COE or the NBA Global Academy. The common theme you could see in all was a real passion for the game and a willingness to be coached,” said Robbie McKinlay, Head Coach – Centre of Excellence.

“Basketball is truly a global game and the NBA wants the best players, regardless of where they are from. The basketball world is a small one in terms of if there is a skilled player out there, teams and scouts will find them. Australian basketball has an outstanding reputation for developing players and these four guys are prime examples of that.”
