The Boomers & Opals claimed the series on a total record of 5 – 1, closing out a frantic Trans-Tasman roadshow in Hamilton.
The Boomers got jumped in the first game of the day and put the travelling party on notice. The Tall Blacks lead flirted with 20 points at stages before a fourth quarter fight back. A fearless performance from Elijah Pepper and icey shooting from Todd Blanchfield wasn’t enough to bring the Boomers back in a 97 – 106 loss.
Paul Goriss and the Opals camp rounded out a complete series performance led by Izzy Borlase, Courtney Woods & Keely Froling. Borlase had 18 points, 6 rebounds and Woods had her best game of the series threat with 16.
Versatile big Keely Froling was a rock for the Opals again and was crucial to the Opals 86 – 71 victory and a sweep of the Tall Ferns.
The Boomers & Opals claimed the series on a total win – loss aggregate of 5 – 1 in a frantic week of games with the TTT25 roadshow going through Adelaide, Sunshine Coast and Hamilton.
Voting is still open for the final two Game MVP’s giving the fans the chance to win a signed jersey. The votes tallied in this competition will go towards a Tournament MVP for each team which will be announced tomorrow.
