Basketball Australia is saddened to learn of the passing of Colin Burdett, Australian Boomer #2.
Burdett was a part of the first Boomers team to qualify and compete at the Olympic Games in 1956 on home soil in Melbourne.
The South Australian starred for his State in the Australian Championships and contributed to a title in 1953.
He was also a member of the SA unit who were the only team to defeat the US Air Force team in 1955.
Amongst other accolades, he won the South Australian Leagues “Player of the Year” Award and his performances in the 1955 Australian Championships led to his selection for Melbourne 1956.
Farewell Boomer #2. You will be missed.
