From the 24-29 September, the Under-14 Club Championships, a partnership between Basketball Australia and Casey Basketball Association, is set to take centre stage at Casey Stadium.
Anchored in its 50-year legacy, the Australian Under-14 Club Championships stand as a bedrock in nurturing the emergence of junior athletes.
Under the current format for the Championships, the 24 teams are divided into six pools of four teams and play a round robin competition. The top two teams in each pool then play for the Championship Division and the teams placed third and fourth in each pool compete for the Shield Division
The City of Casey can expect a significant number of spectators to visit the stadium and surrounding areas throughout the week. This influx of attendees is anticipated to provide a substantial boost to local tourism.
City of Casey Chair of Administrators Noelene Duff PSM said it was an honour to host the Under 14 Club Championships and encouraged local basketball fans to take the opportunity to get along to Casey Stadium and enjoy some of the games.
“The week-long event is a wonderful opportunity for the local community to come along and watch the best 48 club teams from across the country compete against one another,” she said.
“We look forward to welcoming athletes and their families, officials and visitors to Casey Stadium, and wish all the teams the best of luck.”
