Alison Creagh is an accomplished senior leader and experienced non-executive director with extensive expertise across governance, strategic planning, risk management, cyber resilience and stakeholder engagement.
She served for 30 years in the Australian Regular Army, attaining the rank of Brigadier, and has since held a range of senior board, advisory and leadership positions across Australian sport, government, the private sector and the not-for-profit sector.
Ms Creagh’s considerable sporting experience includes serving as President of Paralympics Australia and Vice President of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organising Committee from September 2023 to July 2025.
She is currently a Director of Rowing Australia and Director-at-Large of the Oceania Paralympic Committee, and has served as a member of Basketball Australia’s High Performance Committee.
Basketball Australia Chair John Carey welcomed Creagh’s appointment.
“Alison brings an exceptional breadth of leadership, governance and sporting experience to the Basketball Australia Board,” Carey said.
“Her understanding of the Australian sporting system, together with her expertise in strategy, risk and organisational leadership, will be enormously valuable as Basketball Australia continues to progress its priorities for the sport.

Ms Creagh said she was honoured to join the Basketball Australia Board.

Ms Creagh is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in 2020 for her contributions to rowing and to veterans and their families.
