The Gangurrus couldn't have asked for a better start to their Commonwealth Games campaign.
The men set the tone on Day 1, opening with a 21-15 victory over familiar rivals New Zealand before backing it up with convincing wins over Nigeria and host nation Scotland.
Sam McDaniel and Jonah Antonio were instrumental throughout the opening day. McDaniel starred against New Zealand with eight points, six rebounds and two assists before adding 10 points against Scotland, while Antonio delivered one of the shooting performances of the tournament against Nigeria, scoring all 12 of his points from beyond the arc.
Veteran and three-time Commonwealth Games star Jesse Wagstaff once again proved invaluable with his leadership and work on the glass, while Jarred Bairstow's physicality and playmaking rounded out a balanced Australian performance.
The women matched the men's perfect start.
Emma Clarke was outstanding across the opening three games, finishing with nine points against Kenya before adding six against Jamaica and another 10 against Fiji. Amy Atwell continued her strong international form, while Lara McSpadden and Marena Whittle made important contributions at both ends of the floor as Australia completed an unbeaten opening day.
After a scheduled rest day, the Gangurrus kept their flawless run rolling on Day 3.
Amy Atwell continued her outstanding tournament with 11 points in both victories over the Cayman Islands and Uganda, leading Australia to a pair of convincing wins to complete a perfect pool campaign. With Clarke rested against the Cayman Islands, McSpadden stepped up with seven points and six rebounds, while Whittle controlled the glass with eight rebounds in both contests.
The men recovered from an early deficit against Guyana behind Antonio's eight points before closing pool play with a dominant 21-5 victory over the Cayman Islands.
McDaniel produced his best performance of the tournament in the final pool game, finishing with 12 points while converting all four of his two-point attempts as Australia completed a flawless 5-0 record.
The unbeaten run has earned the Gangurrus top spot of their respective pools, locking in direct qualification to Thursday morning's Commonwealth Games semi-finals (AEST).
