DAY TWO:
The Gangurrus have wrapped up their campaign at the FIBA 3x3 Champions Cup in Bangkok tonight, with both the men’s and women’s teams bowing out following their final pool games.
The women opened the day strongly with a dominant 19–5 victory over Madagascar, led by Emma Clarke who finished with eight points and 11 rebounds, while Marena Whittle added six points. The momentum continued into their final matchup against the United States, but the Aussies were edged 18–15 in a closely fought contest.
In the men’s competition, the Gangurrus battled the United States all game before falling 20–17. Samuel McDaniel led the scoring with eight points, while Alex Higgins-Titsha added six as the Gangurrus remained within reach throughout the contest.
While the Gangurrus’ campaign comes to an end in Bangkok, they will now turn their attention to the 2026 FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup in Singapore from April 1–5.
